an ascii animation in cross-browser dhtml.

i made an ascii fractal animation (at http://iotic.com/mbs ) a little
while ago. when i came across the wildmag competition (via
http://milov.nl, who linked to it), i thought i'd give something similar
a go ...

works fine on ie4+, netscape4+ on windows, mac + linux. fastest on ie in
windows, as is the way with javascript-heavy pages. couldn't get it to
work in opera for windows - opera seems to like neither ie's nor
netscape's way of writing html into a div ...
